Merida, Mexico
We chose Mérida because it’s the perfect meeting point for our family and friends coming from all over the world. It’s a beautiful, vibrant city full of culture, incredible food, adventure, Mayan ruins, cenotes, and so much more to explore. Plus, it’s known as the safest city in Mexico! Which makes it even better for a fun and unforgettable getaway.

Beautifully restored hacienda with a neoclassical influence. Its principal attraction is a beautiful amphitheater that flows into a cenote, work of famous visual artist James Turrell, that makes this hacienda a magical and special place.

Where to stay
HOTEL Hacienda Xcanatun
We’ll be staying at Hotel hacienda xcanatun, Angsana Heritage Collection, and would love for you to join us there!
While we weren’t able to secure a formal room block (the hotel’s rates are the same as what you’ll find online), they are currently offering up to 25% off discounted rates. We highly recommend booking your room as soon as possible to lock in the deal. We actually found a better price on Hotels.com when booking through them.
Having everyone together at the same hotel will make this feel less like just a wedding and more like the ultimate vacation with friends and family. We can’t wait to celebrate, relax, and make memories with all of you in one place.

Other Stay Options
While we’d love everyone to join us at Hotel Hacienda Xcanatun, we know some of you may want to explore different vibes, budgets, or setups that work better for families and groups. Below are a few additional options we recommend:

What to Do
Adventures and Activities in and around the Merida
Adventures & Activities in and around MErida
Mérida is packed with history, culture, and unforgettable experiences. From cenotes and Mayan ruins to food tours and beach escapes, there’s no shortage of things to do before and after the wedding.
We’re also planning a Group Adventure Day think cenotes, ruins, tacos for fuel, tequila for courage, and plenty of laughs. Exact details are still TBD, but expect a field-trip vibe with epic options. Participation is totally optional (and pay-your-own-way), but we’d love to explore together.
Here are just a few highlights you can dive into on your own or with friends:
Mayan Ruins & Cenotes – Day trips to Chichén Itzá, Uxmal, and cenotes like Hacienda Mucuyché.
Food & Drink – Taco and bar tours, tequila tastings, and bike-and-taco adventures.
City Culture – Nighttime light shows at the Cathedral, Pok Ta Pok (the ancient Mayan ball game), and Friday street fiestas on Calle 60, Sunday city bike ride (the city of Merida shuts down the streets to cars and opens them only for people on bikes to cruise around the city)
Beaches – The Gulf of Mexico is just 30 minutes away. Progreso is the go-to, with Sisal and Celestún offering quieter vibes.
Relax & Recharge – Massages, spas, and leisurely Sunday bike rides through car-free streets in the city.
